Raipur, 05 September 2017. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today called upon the teaching fraternity to create favourable impact on the hearts and minds of children. Dr. Raman Singh said that teachers can create a positive or negative impression upon school children in the classrooms. Good teacher is one whose teachings last forever and guide kids throughout their lives. He also remembers many of his teachers since his childhood. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh was addressing a State-level Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony at Raj Bhawan. School Education Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap presided over the function. Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Ambesh Jangde was special guest on the occasion. Recalling the services of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the Chief Minister said that he had dedicated his entire life in serving the motherland. His birth anniversary is celebrated as Teachers’ Day as a mark of respect to the noble soul. He worked as a teacher for nearly 40 years. The life of Dr. Radhakrishnan is a sterling example of a man of principles can reach dizzying heights of success in his career. Dr. Raman Singh also gave away awards to eight State Government schools for their exemplary achievements. He revealed that two lakh 44 thousand teachers are shaping the lives and destinies of 56 lakh school children in 56 thousand schools across the state.
Mr. Kedar Kashyap said that it is a proud day for Chhattisgarh that teachers are being felicitated for their exemplary contributions in the field of teaching. He added that under the leadership of Dr Raman Singh sufficient primary and secondary schools had been opened in the State to cater to the needs of the school students. The quality of teaching is increasing due to the tireless efforts of teachers. The number of awards had been doubled in recent times. Model centres of schooling are being developed at Adivasi-dominated Dantewada and Sukma districts. About 300 students are undergoing coaching for U.P.S.C. examinations at these places. Large number of girls are attending high school due to Saraswati Cycle Yojana. School Education Department Secretary Mr. Vikasheel welcomed the gathering.
